What it's all about.

Recently I went through an emotional trauma when the person I fell in love with did not fall in love with me.  After shedding many tears and sending numerous emails to the other person, he suggested that I write a blog.  My retort was "what kind of blog"?  His reply was, "Edward searching for love".

Needless to say, I was pissed at this suggestion and informed him that "Edward found love but love did not find Edward".

In the aftermath of the Orlando shooting, I have decided that indeed I should write a blog and call it "Edward searches for love".  Not necessarily about my search for "the one" but for the love within humanity.  Where can we find love in this insane world.  How desperately we need to find and embrace love in order to save humanity.  If you find this blog and agree with me that our world needs more love, I hope you will join me on this quest.  Share your own stories of what love is to you.  Help me find love in this insane world.

Edward

  1. That love connection is so hard to create/find. There is lots of chemistry on a purely physical level that is easy to succumb to. But it's rare to find a love connection in this sea of passion.

  2. There are many types of love. Eros which is sexual love is what most people focus on. The love I seek and the foundation from which to build a relationship, is Agape - unconditional love.

    1. Yes unconditional love with Eros love is the optimum. Though the hard part is staying in love as you and your partner changes.

  3. But unconditional love implies eternal because if your love is unconditional, it never ceases when circumstances change. I am a parent and my love for my children is unconditional. They can do things that disappoint or make me angry but they can't do anything that will make me stop loving them.

  4. I heard an interview with David Brooks, who was speaking with his philosophy professor from university of Chicago. He and the professor talked about three types of love, which I really appreciated. Philios eros and agape. You have great luck if you find a love that contains all three.
